Corporate giving
Investment defines the role of financial support of our
participants as they face head-on the challenges of moving
from the street culture to a productive and rewarding place
in mainstream society. Dictionary.com informs the use of
‘investment’ as 1) a devoting or giving of time, talent,
emotional energy, etc. as for a purpose or to achieve something;
2) the investing of money or capital in order to gain profitable
returns, as interest, income, or appreciation in value.
Corporate investment as sponsorship is a powerful investment
tool with many benefits for both Doorway participants and
the community as a whole.
Below are just a few of the ways the corporate community
can help THE DOORWAY continue the worthwhile job of helping
young people move from the street to productive and prosperous
lives in mainstream society.
Incremental Growth: A gift of $1,500 will cover one full
year of contract steps for one participant. Change the world,
one person, one choice, at a time. Each investment in this
category provides an opportunity for one more young person
to create their own business plan to move their life from
their current starting points toward their goals.
Steady Growth: A gift of $6,000 will pay for four young
people for one year. Four is the average number of new openings
at THE DOORWAY each month to welcome new participants to
their personal contract start-up. It is the sustainability
benchmark of the project.
Exponential Growth: A gift of $10,000 will cover one full
month of contract steps for all of our participants (a 70%
participation rate if you’re doing the math!). This is an
investment in the stability and continuity of THE DOORWAY
as a resource young people have come to know as trusted and
reliable. In a world that has incomplete promises and credibility
gaps for young people, this substantial investment provides
grounded evidence of security and hope.
Your financial support is also invaluable in helping cover
ongoing costs of keeping the physical location welcoming,
comfortable, and functional for business purposes. We welcome
help with the purchase of office supplies, maintenance and
upgrades to our computer lab and office equipment, monthly
coffee service, newspapers, current magazines, and pens,
lots of pens, to write plans, ideas and contract steps.
Other ways you can help
In addition to cash and in-kind donations, THE DOORWAY
welcomes monetary assistance with the costs of fundraising
events and initiatives, and sweat-equity with the execution
of our events and initiatives.
In-kind donations of computers, office equipment, supplies
and silent auction items are always welcomed. Reproduction
of training materials and travel costs are growing budget
items – indicative of the interest other groups are showing
in THE DOORWAY contracting process.
All donations of funds and materials to
THE DOORWAY are tax deductible and are accepted in donor
choice currency, as funds or as in-kind. For more information on donating
to THE DOORWAY, please contact us at 403 269 4688 or email
