Management
All aspects of THE DOORWAY serve young people working toward
their individual integration into mainstream economy and
community. The project works as grassroots community development.
Young people
as participants – distinctly differentiated
from clients – are at the top of our organizational chart,
and are the focus of all strategy and activity. This focus
is carried out by community involvement at all levels of
the organization.
Board members are
people from the community who fulfill their role to ensure
that the organization is true to our mission, according to
our by-laws as incorporated under the Societies Act of Alberta
in 1989.
Members are engaged citizens who actively participate in
the work of THE DOORWAY.
The Executive
Director assumes responsibility for commitment
to our vision, philosophical integrity, leadership, development
and ensures compliance of operations as incorporated.
A Lead Facilitator oversees
the delivery and maintenance of the integration environment,
interaction of participants and community, volunteer training,
maintenance of records relating to participant participation
and contracting patterns, and related research initiatives.
Community Volunteers participate at all levels of the organization.
Many serve directly as Cultural Interpreters of mainstream
society for young people making choices to integrate. All
contribute additional skills as appropriate and needed.
